This has gotta be the good life.

Tomorrow Dan and I will celebrate our first wedding anniversary. I can't believe we've only been married a year! And I mean that in a good way... What a crazy ride we've been on this past year. Two months into being married we found out we were having a baby. I felt like I was pregnant for years. The majority of my married life so far I've been lazy and tired and slowly gained weight, so now that I'm done being pregnant I'm excited to be ME for my husband!

This past year has been full of surprises and craziness. My opinion, I think it's funny when girls say "being married is just the best thing ever!!" I don't think being married is the 'best thing ever'. I think being married is a lot of work sometimes! I think anyone who doesn't have moments of wishing they were single again is weird. I think anyone who doesn't reminisce a little about the fun they had in college, their cute skinny body before they had babies, the lack of responsibility they had in middle school, and how they used to be able to live off of pizza and grandma b's cookies is weird. Marriage in and of itself, it's just a new chapter in life...a whole different life then you had before. It's full of a lot more responsibility and compromising.

{THE MUSHY PORTION. SKIP THE NEXT PARAGRAPH IF YOU AREN'T DOWN WITH THE CHEESE!}

On that note, living with your best friend is pretty dang awesome. Being head over heels crazy about someone is probably the "best thing ever"! And I am most surely head over heels crazy about Dan. I've said it before and I'll say it again, he is perfect for me and I'm perfect for him. The big man in the sky sure knew what he was doing when he had us meet. Sometimes Dan gets crazy frustrated with my high maintenance demands and my super emotional girl moments. And sometimes I get crazy frustrated with Dan's typical guy don't say the right thing at the right time moments. But he is the love of my life, and I can't imagine life without him. I'm so stinkin excited to spend the rest of my life with him, growing and learning and loving. Is there anything better?? I think not! (Plus, we obviously make really cute kids together...) So here's to the past year, and the many more years to come. Happy Anniversary babe!!!

{IF YOU SKIPPED THE MUSH, WELCOME BACK NOW.}

SOOoooo anyway, we are celebrating our anniversary tomorrow by taking the babes and heading up to Bear Lake, where we are staying in a condo for the night. I will get to go hot tubing for the first time since pre-pregnancy so I'm super stoked about that! And there might be some other things I'm super stoked about that I haven't been able to do for a few weeks now... (wink, wink.)

And this just in, being a mom is seriously the best! Jace is getting to some fun stages right now. He's smiling and giggly. He just discovered his voice, and he uses it! He's always just cooing and talking to himself, I love it. He's starting to get the muscles working in his legs and he tries so hard to hold his head up all the time. He is getting so much personality, I love watching it come out! And he's starting to sleep through the night, which is FAN-freakin-TASTIC! I have sure been missing my sleep!!!

More good news-Dan and I are buying a house! We've been working up to doing it for a while, but we're officially in the market now. We were trying to figure out if we could keep the condo and just rent it while getting another home loan. So after meeting with the home loan officer we were pleasantly surprised to learn that we can do that! Lucky us, happy day. So once I go back to work at the end of this month we will be looking for a house, and hopefully be into a home in July. We're pretty darn excited!

Going back to work, that's another subject. Last week I started having an emotional breakdown about going back to work. I didn't know why exactly it hit me when it did, since I still have 4 weeks before I go back. But I was a wreck, crying and boobing about how I just didn't want to leave my little baby boy! I am happy to report that this week has been much better. Apparently I was going through a little thing I had mostly forgotten about, something I haven't had to experience for over 9 months now and it just returned...ya know, the great ol' PMS.

So THIS week I have been much better, and even looking forward to going back to work a little! Still not looking forward to leaving my little boy, but it's not the end of the world anymore. And now that we are getting into a home there is an end in sight. Our goal is to slowly work me off of working after we get into our house, so by baby#2 (which won't be for a few years, if we can plan this next one...) I will get to stay at home until the kiddos are in school. That's what I would like to do. {And I have to add, you just don't really know what you are going to want to do until you have a kid! I thought I would be totally fine to be a working mom, but having the little guy here makes me realize that leaving him is one of the hardest things ever. EVER!}

Here are some pictures to leave you all warm and fuzzy after reading this blog post. Cutest red head baby award goes to...
